Jennifer Barker enjoyed growing up in beautiful Nevada County among the foothills. After high school, she moved to the Bay area where she attended Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, Vista College in Berkeley, and Laney College in Oakland. Jennifer completed her B.A. at New College of California in San Francisco where she studied Humanities with a concentration in Film Studies.

Jennifer has held several interesting and rewarding positions. In the Bay area, she was the office manager for Central Coast Polygraph and later worked at a homeless shelter for women and children. Locally, she was a peer advocate/counselor for the Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Coalition and recently, Jennifer provided in-home support to disabled seniors.

When Jennifer is not assisting the marketing team at The Wildwood Independent and Penn Valley Courier, she can be found at the Yuba river, the local library, or at home in the garden. She also enjoys watching movies, baking sweets for friends and family, doing craft projects, and thrift shopping.
