Jody Jones
Jody Jones grew up in Sacramento, during the 50’s and 60’s, just four blocks from the original Tower Records. After completion of her education, Jody migrated to Los Angeles for sunny weather and career opportunities. While working in the music industry she met her husband David, who had come over from England while touring with several bands. They married and eventually moved to Ventura County, for some peace and quiet. In Ventura County, Jody worked for Verizon for almost 8 years, first in Customer Service then Directory Advertising. She was very proud to be nominated Associate of the Year out of 900 employees.

As much as they enjoyed Southern California, Jody’s roots were up north. Her mother was living in Sacramento. Her niece and nephew were in Reno, so Jody accepted a buyout package from Verizon and David took an early retirement from Emery Airfreight. They sold their home in just one day. Having only 30 days to find another residence, Jody found their current house in Lake Wildwood on the Internet. She was stunned that such a place existed!

Jody and David are having a wonderful time in Penn Valley! David is now a postal carrier in Lake Wildwood, which he enjoys very much and Jody has joined The Wildwood Independent / Penn Valley Courier family. She says, “Working for The Wildwood Independent and Penn Valley Courier is a great fit, having previous advertising experience at Verizon and also Gold Country telephone directories. I find great satisfaction in helping small businesses increase sales with a good marketing plan, and I look forward to helping more local companies be successful.”

In their spare time, Jody and David walk their fox terriers Lucy and DJ, and David is a pretty decent golfer. They have over the years also enjoyed completing both large and small remodeling projects on their home.
